She sent fans into a frenzy when she posted a pouty selfie on Instagram.

But Geordie Shore's Charlotte Crosby, 26, has hit back at claims she's gone too far with the lip fillers - and insists it's simply clever make-up artistry.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, 14 July, the reality star tweeted to her 2.95million followers: 'Just to clarify I have not had my lips done RECENTLY (in 6 months to be exact) so change the recordddd have you not heard of @plump_it (sic)'.

The Newcastle lass was referring to a volumising lip plumper in her tweet.

Earlier in the day, she shared a snap on Insta captioned 'Cue the lip police', suggesting she knew she was going to get a backlash for her bee-stung pout.

Indeed some fans criticised her in the comments section, writing: 'Discusting (sic) ... she look so stupid now' amongst others saying she looks 'completely different'.

The Me, Me, Me author has made no secret of her previous surgery, most recently having a nose job.
