If you’re looking to dupe the newest Balenciaga bag on the high street then look no further than Ikea, who just so happen to be selling their own version.

And at a mere 40p compared to the £1700 designer price tag, how could you resist?

The internet pretty much imploded with glee when the Balenciaga design was revealed – mainly as it just so happens to look really, really like the iconic blue Ikeacarrier bag we’ve all used to lug home a lamp, some questionable wall art and 200 tea lights at some point or another.

As fashion fans have noticed, Balenciaga’s ‘extra-large shopper tote bag’ is basically an upgrade of the Ikea FRAKTA carrier bag.

In fact, the only real differences are that the Balenciaga is made of leather and the Ikea has a double strap with its name printed up and down the handle.

Of course the price tag is slightly different too, so if you are in the market for an enormous blue bag, perhaps it’d be worth going for Ikea’s version. It is both washable, recyclable AND easily replaceable after all.

As a spokesperson for Ikea said in a statement: “We are deeply flattered that the Balenciaga tote bag resembles the Ikea iconic sustainable blue bag [...] Nothing beats the versatility of a great big blue bag.”
