Era Istrefi On Being Rihanna & Sia's Lovechild: "I'll Take It!"
Over in her native Kosovo, Era Istrefi is inescapable, but she's only just making waves internationally - and she's done it with her massive dancehall-leaning pophit 'Bonbon'.
As theAlbanian track gained momentum on YouTube, sifting through the commentsthecomparisons to Rihanna and Sia came thick and fast, so when we sat down with the 22-year-old recently we asked her what she thought about being their so-calledlovechild...
"At first when I saw the posts about me being the daughter of Rihanna and Sia, I was like OK I'll take it," she said, "'cause it's so cool and you know I've always adored her and of course it's a compliment. Would you like sounding like Rihanna?!"
Yes. Yes we would. But back to you Era...
In less than six months,'Bonbon' is at 153 million views and counting on YouTube and back home she's so famous she literally gets mobbed in the street.
"I can't even go to buy something to eat," she revealed,"because people want to take pictures with me, like a lot of pictures.
"I love doing that, it's just sometimes it gets a lot and I would rather stay home.It can get too much if there's a lot of people asking for pictures."
We were sitting down with Erabefore Frank Ocean dropped his long-awaited'Blonde', but, like Frank, she also said shetotally gets the pressure of fans waiting for your new music:
"I don't want to put pressure on him 'cause I really know what it's like when fans want musicfrom you and you have to hurry up. But sometimes pressure is no good, sometimes it is good.It depends on how you perceive it."
Keep an eye on this one, people.
