In fact, the track turned out so good, that it crossed Ed’s mind to keep it for himself.

Sheeran joked: “It was one of those songs that, as soon as we finished it, we were jamming out listening to the rough mix of it and I’m in my head, thinking ‘I want this song'.

“It was one of those days where I was half dead from not sleeping and he really kept me energised and I was just drinking water. … He was in the booth and he would sing something and I would fly something his way and he would fly something my way and he literally recorded as we wrote, it was great.”
