The Hottest E3 2018 Rumours And Speculation Right Now
It's E3 season once again, my friends: the annual event where every major games pubisher descends uponLos Angeles for the biggest games event on the planet, to announce new games and show off previously unseen previews of ones yet-to-be-released.
If you're looking for a little head's up on what to expect from E3 2018's conference shots, here areour hot tips on the latest rumours and speculation floating around the internet.
As we've no way to know which of these stories are real or not, take all of them with a healthy bucketful of salt, naturally. The good news is, you won't have to wait long to find out, though - the first E3 shows kick off this weekend!
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
If you couldn't get enough of Bayek's story in Assassin's Creed: Origins, the good news is we'll get a similar adventure sooner than we thought, this one taking place in Greece. While news broke via a leak a few days ago, Ubisoft have now confirmed that this is indeed rumour is true… but exactly what the game entails remains to be seen. Could this finally be the time we get a female lead character in Assassin's Creed?
Elder Scrolls
Those cheeky scamps at Bethesda have already confirmed that a new - and different kind - of Fallout is on the way, but what about Elder Scrolls? All the other Bethesdafranchises have had recent installments - Doom, Dishonored, Wolfenstein - and news of Rage 2, too, leaked a little early, so we reckon it's about time for a new Skyrim announcement...
Devil May Cry 5
Though Capcom are keeping very quiet on this front, news broke yesterday that Capcom have registered the internet address "DevilMayCry5.com" via a company called GMO. Given GMO also registered the domains for Resident Evil 7 and Monster Hunter: World, it looks increasingly likely we'll get news of another stylish DmC game.
Fortnite coming To Nintendo Switch
While the game hasn't been formally announced on Nintendo's hybrid system, the Korean game ratings board tweeted this week that the game hasbeen rated suitable for age 12 and up… a sign that plans are afoot to release it soon. Get ready to fake a surprised expression when the news breaks next week.
Gears of War 5
Rumour has it that a fifth Gears of War title might be making an appearance at this year's Microsoft conference. Exactly what form it'll take remains to be seen, but given the recent trend of shooters adopting Fortnite- and PUBG-inspired Battle Royale modes, maybe it'll come to GOW 5, too?
Halo 6
It's been several years since a Masterchief-flavoured game last hit the stage. Could 2018 be the year we get confirmation of an all new Halo game from 343 industries? Oh my, do we hope so!
Nintendo Labo
Surely it's time for us to get our hands on some new Labo kits? It's one of the most exciting uses of the hybrid Switch console yet, and we're desperate for more kits to play with. Come on, Nintendo - put us out of our misery!
Splinter Cell
While we know to expect some news on a sequel to Ubisoft's excellent The Division, it's been some time since we last had a new Sam Fisher adventure. Could now be the right time to unveil the latest Splinter Cell game?
To find out which of these rumours end up being true - and which ones end up being complete bobbins, of course - you can watch the conferences live yourself. Here's the full list…
