Guess Which Track Has Just Become Spotify's Most Streamed Song Ever
2016: a terrible year for most people, an excellent year for Drake. Aubrey Graham has, as Billboard reports, just added another record to his name: ‘One Dance’ is now officially Spotify’s most streamed song ever.
Taken from Drake’s latest album, 'Views', 'One Dance'has clocked in over 882 million plays (at the time of writing) since being released earlier this year. This milestone sees Drizzy nick the honour from Major Lazer & DJ Snake’s MØ-featuring mega hit ‘Lean On’, which has amassed over 875 million plays since being released last year.
Featuring Wizkid and Kyla, ‘One Dance’ almost broke a major record over here in the UK, as it just missed out on having the longest run in the UK singles chart ever.
American crooner Frankie Laine, who sat on the top spot for 18 weeks with ‘I Believe’, currently holds the record. In comparison, Drake’s ‘One Dance’ charged to a huge 15 weeks atop the summit, but Aubrey still took home a record by having the longest running Number 1 of the digital age, which started in 2004 what legal download services launched in the UK.
In other news, Drake recently announced a huge European tour, including a string of UK dates. For more on that, head over here.
