Dillon Francis Can Break Up A Fight With The Power Of His Voice
[uuid:344348]
As well as making big fat beats, moombahton maestro Dillon Francis has been known to break up fights in Los Tacos outlets with solely the power of his singing voice.
Speaking exclusively to MTV News UK the When We Were Young producer who tweeted about his accomplishment told us the scoop:
“Yes! I swear to God I stopped a fight by singing ‘Through The Grapevine’! It was me, my friendsKyle and Vinnie, and it was this Australian girl trying to fight this dude and he was like going crazy, saying lots of swearwords…
“We just wanted to order food and it just seemed like it was never gonna stop, so we just started singing it and it worked because everyone was just like, ‘what’s going on?’ and the two people that were fighting were like, ‘ I don’t get it’ and then we just moved forward and they didn’t fight (‘cause they were going to!) and he kept saying ‘I’m gonna punch you in the face!’...but man, the power of music!”
Francis dropped his debut album Money Sucks, Friends Rule this week and it features collaborations including the likes of Major Lazer, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, Panic! At The Disco’s Brendon Urie and more. But where’s the track from EDM’s best bromance bud Skrillex we’ve all been waiting for?!
“That one is still in the process of being made,” he revealed. “I think I’m gonna do a moombahton EP for next year sometime after all the album stuff is done taking it’s course but we’ve already been working on a song since we were on tour together and it’s pretty cool.”
Among his other friends the self-proclaimed clown (just take a look at his Instagram) seems to have become buds with Hollywood hunk Zac Efron, telling us that was one of the unexpected fans he’s accumulated recently.
“I remixed this song Morning Sun that was in That Awkward Moment and he liked it and he tweeted about it so I didn’t even think that he’d like that type of music. I don’t know what celebrities like!”
And while we had him in the buildingwe had to ask who he’s backing for this year’s Best Electronic MTV EMA...
“Calvin Harris for sure…He is killing it so hard. Constantly. I definitely think he should take it.”
