Wait, Was Dave Grohl Going To Work With Prince AND David Bowie?

The former Nirvana drummer has told Howard Stern that there were two very cool collaborations that almost happened recently...

Dave Grohl has been dropping names left, right and centre recently as he revealed he almost made sweet music with David Bowie and Prince.

The Foo Fighters rocker told Howard Stern super casually that he and Bowie were "maybe gonna do a thing together and it didn't really pan out."

"I had an opportunity to do a song thing for this movie, and I thought it would be really fun to get someone else to sing on it," said Grohl.

The musician explained that it ultimately didn't happen because of 'logistics', which in other words means they were both simply too busy.

As if that wasn't enough, Dave then went on to speak about jamming with Prince after they met backstage at the 'Purple Rain' star's show in LA.

He reminisced of the time when the pair played together at soundcheck the next week, with himself on drums and Prince on bass.

According to Grohl, Prince could "shred the bass like I've never seen anyone play it", though he ultimately "blew him off" and didn't want to perform it after all.
