Cheryl Fernandez-Versini will be the toast of headline writers across the land after revealing that she's dropping her new surname for professional purposes.

The pop star and X Factor judge - formerly known as Cheryl Cole - told the Sunday People that people had been finding her married name a bit of a mouthful.

"It's just Cheryl because everyone seems to be having a hard time saying it," she explained.

Chezza tied the knot with Frenchman Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini a month ago on the island of Mustique.
