BFMV's Matt Tuck Completes The World's First Air, Sea & Land Gig Because He's Awesome
Think of the best gig you ever went to and then multiply it by INSANITY and you might come close to whatBullet For My Valentine's Matt Tuck did this weekend.
The next instalment inJägermeister's 'Ice Cold Gig' series,Matt achieved a world first - completing an extreme, continuous gig through air, sea and landnear Tromsø, in the stunning setting of North Norway, 192 miles north of the Arctic Circle.
Taking three of his best mateswho've supported him throughout various stages in his careeralong with him for every step of the way, they were each paired with a specially trained instructor to freefall from a HELICOPTER (!) at 15,000 feet in -30 degreesabove the stunning Lyngsfjord where, once the canopy opened, Matt unzipped his guitar andbegan his first song, 'The Last Fight'.
How many people do you know thathave tried to play at guitar whilst desecending towardsthe Arctic Circle? Thought not.
Once safely on two feet, thefoursome were whisked across the fjord on a Buster Magnum speedboat for the second track of the gig, 'Venom', before being met by Siberian huskies who transported them through the snowtowards the Gukkesgaissa Mountains with Matt playing his 2010 classic 'Bittersweet Memories' before ending up at a traditional Norwegian Sami Camp.
How do we know all this? We were freakin' THERE.MTVwere honoured to be invited along for every step of the way, and we mean EVERY step.
Seeing what Matt and his fingers went through this weekend has given us the utmost respect for the guy but done no favours for our fear of heights. On the pluswe've started looking into husky adoption though. In. Love.
Watch out for our exclusive behind the scenes vid coming soon following Matt and pals in Norwayas they completed this monumental feat beforea full length ‘making of’ the Ice Cold Gig documentary getsreleased by Jägermeisternext month.
