Britney Spears’ last single may be more autobiographical than we realized, judging by an interview with her album producer Will.I.Am, in which he called the Work B*** singer “dedicated and disciplined.”

“Britney’s a pro. Her time is valuable: she has kids,” the Black Eyed Peas frontman told Popjustice. “Britney’s like: ‘I’m coming in from 2pm until 6pm.’ She’ll arrive at 1.30, and from 2 to 6 she’ll be like BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM. BAM BAM BAM BAM. BAM BAM. I’ve never seen anything like that. Her work ethic is pretty admirable.”

Will.I.Am’s official job on Brit Brit’s latest album – titled Britney Jean – was ‘Executive Producer’ and he acknowledged that it was “a hard role”. “You’re either the last to be acknowledged or the first to be acknowledged,” he said. “And I know that, because I’ve been on the other side, as an artist”

“But I like Britney,” he continued. “I just love her dedication and love for music. That’s just the way it is. I love how sweet she is, and how genuine she is. Shy, but fierce. And I want to see her win.”

When it comes to the studio however, there’s only one ringmaster. “She’s in charge,” Will said of the Circus singer. “The artist is always in charge.”
