Beyoncé Recreates Iconic ‘We Can Do It!’ Poster At WW2 Museum
By Jennifer Lynn
[related]Beyoncé has long been known for her girl power lyrics – hello, Run The World (Girls) – but a visit to America’s National World War II Museum in New Orleans saw her take on another feminist icon: Rosie the Riveter.
Drawn on a poster by artist J. Howard Miller back in 1942, Rosie represented the female US factory workers during the war, and became linked to women’s empowerment in the ’80s.
Currently on the US leg of her On The Run tour with husband Jay-Z, Bey has clearly been getting cultural during her downtime, and flexed some impressive muscles as she copied Rosie’s signature pose.
Whether or not she planned her denim boiler suit and bandana in advance we don’t know, but either way we’re pleased to see Mrs Carter is still representing for the ladies, while making a style statement.
Earlier this week Bey shared a teaser of Fifty Shades Of Grey’s trailer, which will be revealed in full on Thursday, featuring a slowed-down version of her hit single, Crazy In Love.
